“Best comedy show I’ve seen, and I’ve seen them all.”
Different Beliefs.
Common Ground.
Interfaith Comedy brings comedians from different religious and cultural backgrounds together for an evening of clean stand-up and conversation. Their stories find humor in their own experiences of faith, identity, and everyday life, inviting audiences to connect across differences.
The touring troupe includes a range of perspectives, with each event’s lineup selected to bring different backgrounds to the stage. Comedians joke about their own traditions rather than targeting someone else’s, creating an approachable way to explore common ground.
The standard program runs approximately 90 minutes: 70 minutes of stand-up followed by a 20-minute facilitated audience Q&A. That conversation gives guests a chance to hear more from the performers and carry the connection beyond the punchlines.
Recipient of the Interfaith Council of Metropolitan Washington’s 2025 Bridge Builder Award, the group has performed for universities, community organizations, places of worship, performing arts venues, and interfaith gatherings across the country. Previous hosts include UC Santa Barbara, Goucher College, and the Gordon Center for Performing Arts.
Most performers are based in the Washington, DC area, with additional comedians in Houston, Chicago, and New York. Traveling shows typically feature three or four comedians; the lineup and format are confirmed for each booking.
